Top award for Helen

A Shropshire woman has scooped a top award for her dedication and commitment to developing her skills.

Helen Price, from Bayston Hill, studied for the Certificate in Personnel Practice at Shrewsbury College of Arts and Technology alongside her full-time job.

And she achieved such a high grade that she was chosen as the Student of the Year from her course, accredited by the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development.

Helen received her award at a special presentation at Rapra Technologies, in Shawbury, from Maria Sandford, of Prince Personnel in Telford.

Maria said: “This is the first time we have sponsored an award like this, and we chose to support the event because we believe personal development is extremely important for career success. To see people like Helen holding down a full-time job and studying at the same time is so impressive – a course like this takes huge dedication and commitment.”

Stephanie Bamford, also from Prince Personnel, said: “We are always keen to work with local organisations especially when it comes to personal development and enhancing skills. We’re very proud to be associated with the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development course.”

CIPD Shropshire and Mid Wales Chair, Gina Billington, said they were very grateful for Prince Personnel’s support.

“CIPD is Europe’s largest Human Resources development professional body, and the Shropshire and Mid Wales branch has around 900 members. We support and develop those responsible for the management and development of people within organisations, and support students too through courses like the one at Shrewsbury College.”
