We are working with a well-established manufacturing business who are looking to recruit an experienced Materials Controller to join their Production Control team. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and proactive individual with strong planning, stock control and supplier management experience to play a key role in ensuring materials are available to support production requirements.

As the Material Controller you will be responsible for…

  • Monitoring material requirements and ensuring stock levels are maintained to support production schedules
  • Raising and managing purchase orders with suppliers
  • Liaising with suppliers regarding delivery schedules, lead times and any supply issues
  • Tracking and expediting materials to ensure on-time delivery
  • Managing inventory levels and identifying opportunities to reduce excess stock
  • Maintaining accurate data within the ERP/MRP system
  • Investigating and resolving stock discrepancies
  • Working closely with Production, Planning, Purchasing and Warehouse teams
  • Producing reports and analysing material usage and stock trends
  • Supporting continuous improvement activities within the supply chain function

               

We are looking for someone who has…

  • Previous experience in a Materials Controller, Materials Planner, Production Planner or Supply Chain role within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and supplier relationship management skills
  • Good analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
