A well‑established global manufacturer based in Telford is seeking a Continuous Improvement Coordinator to join their growing Quality & Continuous Improvement Engineering team.
This is a hands-on, improvement‑focused role for an engineer who enjoys analysing processes, using data to drive decisions, and leading structured change on the shop floor. You will play a key role in identifying inefficiencies, reducing waste and variation, and embedding a sustainable culture of continuous improvement across the business. Quality tools and systems will support your work, ensuring improvements are robust, compliant and repeatable.

As the Continuous Improvement Coordinator, you will:
- Lead and deliver continuous improvement initiatives using Lean methodologies to improve efficiency, flow and performance
- Identify waste, variation and process inefficiencies, implementing practical solutions with cross‑functional teams
- Facilitate CI activities including Kaizen events, Value Stream Mapping and 5S
- Champion structured problem solving using A3, 8D and root cause analysis techniques
- Use data and KPIs to track improvement performance and support evidence‑based decision making
- Support process stability and product quality through the effective use of core quality tools such as FMEA, SPC, APQP and PPAP
- Contribute to product and process compliance, audits and Business Management System adherence
- Work closely with operational teams to embed CI thinking and develop continuous improvement capability across the site
- Apply basic metrology and measurement principles to support process control and improvement validation
The skills and experience you need…
- Experience in a Continuous Improvement, Lean, Process or CI‑focused engineering role within manufacturing
- A strong working knowledge of Lean tools and CI methodologies (Kaizen, VSM, 5S, waste reduction)
- Practical experience using problem solving and root cause analysis tools (A3, 8D, CAPA)
- A sound understanding of core quality tools including FMEA, SPC, APQP and PPAP
- A data‑driven, analytical approach with a hands‑on mindset
- The confidence to engage, influence and support cross‑functional teams at all levels
- Proactive, adaptable and motivated to drive meaningful, sustainable improvement
- Automotive manufacturing experience would be advantageous but is not essential
