Our client is a well-established and highly respected business based in Telford, currently experiencing an exciting phase of sustained growth and transformation. This evolution has already led to success in several new and unrelated sectors, with significant untapped potential still to explore. As a result, the business is now investing in its future by creating a brand-new Sales Manager position; a pivotal role focused on driving new client acquisition and unlocking further growth opportunities.

The Opportunity:

You’ll work alongside an experienced team of Account Managers and Estimators who currently manage existing clients and ongoing projects. With that foundation in place, your focus will be on identifying, engaging, and winning new business across both established and emerging markets.

There is a vast and largely untapped client landscape to explore, making this an ideal opportunity for someone who thrives on building relationships, opening doors, and creating long-term partnerships.

The Role:

As Sales Manager, you will take ownership of new business development activity, playing a key role in the company’s continued expansion. From market analysis through to client engagement and deal conversion, you’ll be instrumental in driving growth.

This will be a hands-on, outward-facing role involving regular client interaction, whether that’s visiting customer sites or hosting prospective clients at the Telford facility for tours and product demonstrations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, target, and win new business opportunities across multiple sectors
  • Conduct market research and analysis to uncover new growth areas
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with prospective clients
  • Arrange and attend client meetings, site visits, and presentations
  • Host client visits to the Telford facility, showcasing capabilities and solutions
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies focused on new client acquisition
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding of new clients
  • Monitor performance, track pipeline activity, and report on sales progress

The Candidate

We’re looking for a driven, commercially minded sales professional who enjoys the challenge of developing new business and making a tangible impact.

You’ll be someone who is:

  • Proven in a Sales Manager or senior business development role
  • Confident in winning new clients and building relationships from scratch
  • Strategic in your approach, with the ability to spot and capitalise on opportunities
  • An excellent communicator with strong negotiation skills
  • Self-motivated, target-driven, and eager to contribute to a growing business
  • Comfortable with travel for client meetings and site visits
